Your big beautiful beefy bulwark of badass.

Now why didn’t I think of this?

This idea from Llanion at Mad Cow Chronicles may be the greatest thing I’ve ever heard.  Get some friends together, strip down naked, start at Ragefire Chasm (or Deadmines for you Alliance types), and tear through instances of increasing difficulty, equipping only what you loot.  How cool is this?

  1. I did this with my alliance guild back in the day. You never really appreciate how gear dependent you are as a warrior until you try this.

I was crying for a shield until we got the old standby in SM: Cathedral.

  2. We did RFC, Wailing Caverns, Shadowfang Keep, SM: Cathedral and finally UBRS. Yes, there were a couple jumps in difficulty there. No wipes, though!

Our next run’s going to be all three wings of Dire Maul.

  3. Nox did a naked Deadmines run *ages* ago. We didn’t continue on past it, but it was a lot of fun. It’s also the origin of “Don’t autofollow Davien.” Raga ended up in a dark corner with Maus. >.>

    I still have two screenshots!

I’m going to guess a bizarre combination of “too much” and “not enough”.

  4. We have a solo version that we have always called “Iron-manning”, and based it on Ironman Diablo where you try to go from start to finish without ever returning to the surface. We eventually even added a competitive element to it: the person who returned with the most AH magical items won the “prize” for the week, usually nothing more than a mention in the guild MotD, but still. We haven’t done it for a very long time, gonna have to try it again some time soon!
